CAT 2006 - Key Changes
1. CAT 2006 will be a 2.5 hours test.
2. All students have to be graduates with atleast 50% marks in graduation [45% for students belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories].
3. Students can procure CAT Bulletin and Application Form from

Last date for receipt of completed CAT Applications - 9th September, 2006
Dispatch dates for Admit Cards - 16th October, 2006
Date after which IIM should be contacted (in case of non receipt of Admit Card)
3rd November, 2006
Common Admission Test - 19th November 2006
Call for interview sent by - 2nd January, 2007
Interview Schedule February - March, 2007
Are you eligible for CAT06? [For PGP programs only]
1. You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree
2. You should have least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in your graduation [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Persons with Disability (PWD) category]
3. In case you are a student appearing for the final bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination you can also apply.
4. Additional points you should note:
a. However you must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the university/ institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
b. If selected, you will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if you submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2007 from the Principal/Registrar of your college/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2007) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
c. Your admission will be confirmed only when you submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by the Principal/Registrar with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category).
d. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2007. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.
5. All domestic candidates are required to take the CAT. Domestic candidates are Indian nationals or foreigners normally resident in India who are in a position to take the CAT in India.
How to apply for CAT 2006? [For Domestic Candidates only]
1. CAT 2006 application form/bulletin will be available at several branches of UTI Bank across India for domestic candidates.
2. You can purchase application form alternatively ONLINE. More detail about online process will be posted after the notification is released in newspapers.
3. Candidates who buy application from UTI branch are also eligible to fill out their application online; subsequently the candidates is required to take print outs and attach necessary documents and submit it to relevant IIM.
4. Bulletin fee details and list of UTI branches will be mentioned in the CAT Notification/ Advertisement
Completed CAT applications [both print out of the online form and hardcopy] need to be posted to the respective IIM as per the choice of centre opted by the candidate on or before 9th September 2006.
