Entire batch of 118 students placed within hours with a number of students having more than one offer
Over 65 companies participated in the recruitment process
Many companies including Ernst and Young, JP Morgan Chase ,Citicorp, DHL, Infosys visited the campus for the first time
Highest salary was 8.1 lakhs (gross) per annum by ITC
Average salary rose to Rs. 6,37,482
Citigroup - Single largest recruiter with 20 offers followed by Infosys with 9 and J.P.Morgan Chase with 7 offers
Significant increase in PPO/Lateral offers

PLACEMENTS AT IIT-KGP
Placements for the batch of 2006 at VGSOM were a phenomenal success and confirmed the growing faith and interest the industry is placing in VGSOM and its students. Premium organizations from the corporate sector descended on the campus and lapped up the students of the class of 2006 in one and half a day flat. Notwithstanding the increased batch size of 85 (compared to 49 for the preceding batch) the placement figures took a substantial leap. The average salary jumped from 6.12 lakhs per annum to 7.06 lakhs per annum . The highest salary offered was 9 lakhs per annum and the minimum was 4.51 lakhs per annum . The median figure stood at 6.74 lakhs per annum . Many companies slotted Day-2 onwards had to return empty-handed.

Placement at IIM- Kozhikode
IIM Kozhikode’s Class of 2006 signed off in spectacular style with the grand success of this year’s placement process. The strong economy and a positive outlook for growth set the scene for a superb recruitment season as 41 new companies joined IIMK’s already impressive recruiter list. 97 companies confirmed their participation in the entire placement process, however only 47 companies received final offer acceptances from the students.

PLACEMENTS AT IIM- INDORE
IIM Indore, the youngest of the IIMs, has raised the bar for B-school placements with its swashbuckling Final Placements for the batch of 2006. Eight international placements from diverse sectors like banking, operations consultancy and media, and Four additional international postings across the globe were among the many aces served in the quick-fire match which lasted barely 24 hours. Apart from the statistical significance of the higher-than-ever average salaries, participants were able to choose from multiple offers based on their preferences and objectives. All the companies left the campus with smiles on their faces having recruited some of the best brains in the country.

PLACEMENTS AT GOA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT
Goa Institute of Management has done in 12 years what the others could do after decades, offering great managers to industries from all sectors. Industries’ faith in one of India’s premier B-schools was evident with the average pay package offered this year increasing substantially over last year’s offerings. Nearly half the batch of 104 students was placed within the first six hours of the placement week, and before the first 24 hours were out companies had to leave empty handed. The first six hours saw more than one student being placed every 10 minutes.
71 companies were scheduled to participate in the placement process but only 38 companies could recruit students and the rest had to leave empty handed
