SIIB PLACEMENTS

Placement for the Class of 2007 at SIIB was a resounding success. The placement week was in first week of December’06 and in this period 112 students of MPIB were placed in 34 companies. Similarly 43 students of the MPABM program were placed in 11 companies. It must be highlighted here that a total of 69 companies had registered for the final process of MPIB and this figure stood at 22 for MPABM. Needless to say many of these companies had to leave empty handed.
As per the college policy, a survey was done amongst the final year students to know their sectoral preference in which IT/ITES and BFSI were the top draws. So the final line up of companies was skewed towards IT and BFSI. The major recruiter this year included
IT/ITES - Covansys, IBM, HP, Infosys, Wipro, i-Flex and Infosys BPO
FMCG – L’Oreal, ITC, SAB Miller, Asian Paints, Nerolac
Research and Consulting – Accenture, Deloitte, IMRB
BFSI – GE Money, HDFC Bank, Citi Group, ICICI Bank, Irevna Research, IDBI Bank, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Kotak Mahindra Bank
Services – Thomas Cook, VFS
Manufacturing – Trident, Sterlite, John Deere
Agri Business – Monsanto, DSCL, HyperCity

TAPMI PLACEMENTS

The T.A.Pai Management Institute, Manipal announced that the Campus Placement for the Batch of 2007 was held on the 20th December 2006. Amidst hectic schedules and students shuttling between interviews with different organizations on campus, almost all the students were “placed” within a few hours of commencement of the process. TAPMI adopted a dual offer system with an end of the day acceptance to allow the students choice in the organization they preferred.

SYDNEHAM PLACEMENTS

It was celebration time for the graduating students of Sydenham Institute of Management, Mumbai as they lapped up top-notch corporate jobs during the campus placements. With the temperatures dipping all across due to the winter chill, the salaries at the institute showed quite an opposite trend with the average shooting up to a staggering 7.12 lakhs per annum, an increase of 30.9% as compared to the previous year.

 

The nation is witnessing an average GDP growth rate in the range of 7- 8% and it was evident in terms of the fatter pay cheques and challenging profiles that the companies offered to the students. The companies made a beeline for the budding managers, which reflected on the wide appeal the institute has throughout the industry.

SIBM PLACEMENTS

Pune, January 3: The Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) created a record of sorts when on Day One the institute achieved 100 per cent placements in six hours. SIBM director Arun Mudbidri said 207 offers were made to 143 students with an average salary of Rs 8.7 lakh per annum per student.

IIT CHENNAI PLACEMENTS

The Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras recently concluded a spectacular placement season lasting just 3 days for the MBA batch of 2007.  While 37 companies had confirmed their participation in the placement process, placements got over with the first 25 companies who came to campus. The recently concluded placement season was significant in a number of ways.

IIT - BOMBAY PLACEMENTS

The placement process at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay broke new grounds to finish with the best ever placements season. Average salary increased by 24% compared to last year and touched Rs 9.71 lakhs with a median of Rs 9.5 lakhs. Nearly 10% of the batch was offered international profiles with Olam international offering the highest international salary of $85,000.The domestic salary reached a new high of Rs 13.2 Lakhs offered by a leading international SCM and retail consultancy firm. More than 40% of the batch became overnight millionaires even before graduating, breaching the coveted Rs 10 Lakh barrier! The strength of the placements can be gauged by the fact that only four students had a salary less than Rs 8 Lakhs.

GIM PLACEMENTS

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is one of the premier B-Schools in India consistently ranked among the top few in most surveys. The thrilling once in a year experience that every B-School looks forward to, that is, the placement week, is finally over at GIM.

Placements for the Class of 2007 started on 15th of December and ended late in the evening, the next day. During this period, 116 students from different academic backgrounds with varying work experience were selected and placed in 31 companies. This year, main recruiters came from the IT, Consulting, Financial Services, Banking, Telecom and Automotive sectors.
