What do you think is the credibility of the Indian markets?
Biggest achievement for the Indian capital markets today is that we are more expensive than the US markets in term of valuations. This shows that Indian story is intact and brighter than any other markets.

What can we expect from the Indian markets in the next fiscal year?
Markets are extremely unpredictable . But my sense is that it should be in the range (8600-12400)

Did the budget ’06 stand to its expectations?
For the first time in the history of Indian budgets there were no huge expectations and budget was seen as just a normal day in the markets. This signifies political stability and Economic progress.

Who plays a dominant role in the markets?
Foreign Institutional Investors( FIIs ) have been playing a dominant role in the Indian equities . But my sense is , in future domestic money shall definitely play an important role . For example , we have Reliance Mutual fund which has collected 5700 Crore in one Mutual Fund Scheme.

Sir, your take on performing sectors?
I believe that FMCG, Infrastructure and retailing could be the emerging sectors in Indian markets besides the already acclaimed IT and Pharma.

What qualities would you want in a fresh Portfolio manger?
From a fresh portfolio manager , I would first love to see passion in them for the Indian equities and a balanced head to take proper decisions.
